First Day of Kindergarten

Joshua and Miss Cammack

Olivia wanted to stay!

Joshua was very brave! Didn't cry or ask me to stay!
Mom wasn't so brave:(

So we're on our way to Joshua's first day of school talking about all the neat things he will learn.... writing his letters, reading, making new friends.... and he interrupts me and says.. "yea, and I heard on the radio that a boy learned to burp the alphabet!" I quickly told him that would probably NOT be anything they would teach him in kindergarten:) He had a great first day and luckily I was the first person to ask him the popular "So what did you do on your first day of school?" I got every detail. Funny though, by the end of the day when "Aunt T T" asked him the same question he said, "Read a book and lots of stuff..." As we were coming home from school he informed me that they really didn't have any toys at school unlike when he was in preschool. He said, "I don't think they wanted us to play." When I questioned him why he thought that he replied, "I think they want us to do a lot of learning and not very much playing". He has been very excited for the last year for school to start and now that he has had a little taste of it, he's not so sure about "going to school every day that daddy goes to work". Olivia missed him and was happy to see him when we went to pick him up. Mommy missed him too. It was a quiet morning!
